CASE STUDIES

FILM INDUSTRY COMPUTER SECURITY

As part of a series of Innovate UK-funded projects to secure the British media industry against cyber-threats, worked with leading players in the British digital media industry on a number of projects which introduced the industry to new security technologies.

These included the use of machine learning and logic programming to analyze and defend against threats, implement fine-grained rule-based access control (including cryptographic access control) to networks, systems and assets, and the use of mathematical logic to automatically audit security policies to prove they meet industry and studio security standards.

Partners in these projects included Sohonet, Double Negative, Framestore, Smoke and Mirrors, Ovation Data and the Moving Picture Company.

BIG DATA PROCESSING

Designed and implemented large-capacity, very-high-performance storage, archival and networking systems for a number of clients, up to and including live migration of whole companies from legacy networks and storage platforms to new unified platforms and multiple sites without disrupting business activities.

Projects included live systems with hundreds of terabytes of low-latency data storage, archives with hundreds of millions of files, real-time multi-gigabit streaming of high-resolution uncompressed film data, and petabyte-scale data synchronization over multi-waveband optical networks.
